Shoes for Shorts.

Shoes for Shorts.

It’s true what they say.

“Good shoes take you good places”

After your shirt (obviously!) your shoes are the most important element to your outfit and need to be suited appropriately to the occasion.

While the sun is still shining and your jeans and trousers have been temporarily ditched, we’re going to take you through our top 5 shoes to wear with shorts this summer, whether you’re staying at home or travelling somewhere for a break over the coming months.

First up, Crocs... just kidding. Actually, that's not even a joke. Just don't go there.

The Loafer.

Tassels or no tassels? That is the question.

Opting for a suede in the summer, a loafer is a stylish, smart shoe that will make heads turn at any BBQ. Go for the tasseled option if you’re feeling super stylish and the non-tasseled pair for the everyday run-around.

But gents, do not even consider wearing anything other than invisible socks with these, please, for the love of god, don’t do it.
Sneakers.

More often than not, less definitely is more.

Snag yourself a crisp pair of white trainers. No big logos, no soles that look like you’re walking on jelly cubes, just a plain, high quality pair of leather trainers.

You can wear these all through the year, with smart trousers, jeans, chinos - the lot, so getting a good pair really is an advisable investment.

The Boat Shoe.

Nothing screams summer more than a classic boat shoe. And while you may not have the ‘boat’ part, there's nothing stopping you wearing a great pair of these on your weekend day trips to the beach.

Experimenting with colour on these could work a treat and all ideas are acceptable!

Again, no socks, chaps.. just a dark pair of chino shorts, our linen ‘Peter’ shirt and these gems on your feet.

The Driving Shoe.

Comfort and Style. What else do you need in a shoe.

Opt for a colourful pair of driving shoes to slip on and off as you please and to keep you looking sharp no matter where you are.

Make the most of the summer months in a good driving shoe as, come September, you’re not going to want to tackle the classic British weather in these!

Birkenstocks.

OK, this is the closest we’re going to get to flip flops. And while we love a flip flop on the beach, we think you can do better when it comes to socialising with friends or exploring a new holiday destination.

Taking a slightly more stylish approach to sandals, a good birkenstock should be an essential for your summer holidays - keeping your feet cool and keeping you looking the part.
And that about sums it up. Pair all of these with some stylish, slim fitted shorts and a linen, seersucker or an oxford shirt from our new collection and take on summer in style.
