Our Six Weekend Getaway Destinations

Our Six Weekend Getaway Destinations

The summer holidays are almost upon us and while some of you may be preparing for two weeks away in sunny Portugal. Some of us, well, aren't.

Whether you've already been away this year of you've used up your holidays on hangover days, sometimes you can't book more than one day off although you feel like you really need to.

So to ease your pain a little and to celebrate the recent launch of our new Weekend Bag (if you haven't heard about this, erm where have you been? But click here) we have put together six of our favourite weekend away destinations in the UK. So whether you're wanting a spontaneous adventure or being a gent and surprising your other half, we've got a destination for you.

Be warned gents, these destinations may not be long haul but this blog post is!

The Coast

Camber Sands, Camber

Cornwall
First up (and I couldn't have not included this) is Cornwall. The county has grown to become one of the nation's go to places for staycations. Cornwall offers a plethora of activities from long coastal walks to surfing to eating ALL the Cornish cream teas. Head to the North coast for amazing surf spots and sandy beaches or the South coast for calmer sailing waters and picturesque villages. You'd be hard pressed to fit the whole county into one weekend. However, that's just a great excuse to return after sampling what Cornwall has to offer.

Must see: Newquay, St Ives and Kynance Cove.

East Sussex
Whether it's traditional British seaside fun or a walk along the cliffs, East Sussex has you covered. Just one hour outside of London, it's the perfect destination for those wishing to escape but not go too far afield. If quirky shops, great nightlife and a bar 531 feet in the air are you thing, Brighton is for you. If you're a bit of a history buff then head to the town of Battle where William The Conqueror defeated the Saxons.

Must see: Brighton Pier, Rye and Camber Sands.

Shirt Choice – If the coast is your preferred destination, then our t-shirt 'Quinn' should be the first thing you pack in your weekend bag. Suitable for everyday, it's great to rock on a hot beach day or style under and open shirt for a more put together evening look.

The City

Edinburgh, Scotland

York
The walled city oozing with history. York is a great city escape if you fancy somewhere a little less built up but still busy. It hosts a multitude of chain stores as well as little independent shops. If you fancy learning about the city's gruesome past, a ghost walk is perfect for satisfying your thirst for knowledge and spooky stories. Finish with food and a G&T in one of the river side pubs for the perfect end to the day.

Must see: The city walls and York minster.

Edinburgh
Pack a jacket gents, we're going further North! Not only is Scotland's capital, Edinburgh, filled with history but you're able to do all the modern things you fancy too. So after you've visited the castle or taken a stroll through Old Town, you can indulge in a spot of shopping and a well deserved coffee - or perhaps a spot of Scotch.

Must see: Arthur's Seat and Elephant House Cafe.

Shirt Choice – Our linen shirt 'Peter' allows you to stay smart casual whilst wandering the streets of the city but still be comfortable and stylish.

The Countryside

Castle Combe, Wiltshire

The Lake District
With it's breathtaking mountain views and overabundance of lakes (well duh) the Lake District caters to many. If you're the adventure sport sort, you can lace up your walking boots and go for a hike or perhaps kayak on the water. If you're looking for a more relaxed weekend, stroll the streets of the local villages or rent a rowing boat for a different view of the lakes.

Must see: Scarfell Pike and Bowness-on-Windermere.

The Cotswolds
A picture postcard in the flesh and a designated Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With it's quaint medieval villages and grand stately homes, the Cotswolds offers a completely different side to the UK for you city goers in need of some fresh air and open space. Spend the day driving the scenic roads from village to village or stay in the countryside whilst venturing to any of towns or cities that lie within the borders.

Must see: Soho Farmhouse and Cotswold's distillery.

Shirt Choice – Our short sleeve shirt 'Clarence' is the perfect shirt to add to your weekend bag. The lightweight and breathable seersucker material makes it perfect for your countryside wanderings.
