As you gents may know, earlier this year we announced our partnership with The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity and the creation of our charity shirt 'Humphrey'.
Well, we're back today to deliver some more good news. We have made it into the final for the Charity's Many Hands competition!
*does tiny victory dance at desk*
So, you may be wondering what the Many Hands competition is.
Let us enlighten you.
Many Hands is a corporate fundraising campaign created by the charity. It encourages local north western businesses to participate in raising money for the children at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Now in its sixth year, the campaign challenges businesses to come up with a creative and innovative ways to raise £1,000 over a six month period for a specific service within the hospital. And we're proud to say we've made the final four!
We'll be pitching our contribution to the campaign on 2nd October to former Dragon's Den investor, Theo Paphitis (we've got our game faces on!)
So, how are we raising money?
With every sale of our charity shirt 'Humphrey', we donate 100% of the proceeds to the charity. So when you buy the specially designed oxford shirt, you really are living the 'look good, feel good, do good' lifestyle.
The shirt is all white cotton and features our signature penny farthing logo on the left breast and the charity's mascot – Humphrey the bear – on the left cuff. Both in the statement lime green colour of the RMCH charity.
The proceeds for 2018s campaign will be in support of The Children's and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
CAMHS is used to refer to all services aimed to helping the mental welfare of children and young people, including access to psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and many more.
This year, Many Hands aims to raise over £50,000 in support of refurbishment and therapeutic artwork at the CAMHS Winnicott Centre. The artwork focuses on helping to improve self-confidence and reduce anxiety in complex and distressing times in the lives of the young people at the centre.
Since it began in 2008, the Many Hands Campaign has seen 180 companies from across the region collectively raise £300,000. With last years winners, Manchester based gin company Atlas Bar, raising over £5,000. That's a lot of money to do a lot of good.
It is our aim as a brand to support and give back to the community in any way, big or small, that we can. So if we can create shirts that do more than just look great, then we'll be pretty happy chaps.
