4 (Really Easy) Summer Skincare Tips You Must Try.

The tonic is in the fridge, your shorts are on, and you're already shortlisting destinations for your next getaway. It's official, summer is almost upon us. As a Nation that spends the majority of the year in cooler wetter weather, especially us up here in the North, we really like to make the most of the sun while it lasts.

With barbecues a go-go and spontaneous sunny days out (you can find some ideas for those in this post) we all get caught up in the excitement of soaking up some rays. However, whilst we're all out sipping on an ice cold beverage we can forget that with the sun can come some serious health risks.

But never fear gents! I'm here to chase away that little Eeyore cloud that's just formed above your head with four tips to help take care of your skin this summer that are exceptionally easy to do daily.

Without sounding like your mum, this is maybe the most obvious but most important of summer skincare saviours. You can prevent all manner of sun damage just by using an SPF 30 or higher. We're all guilty of forgetting the suncream now and again but if there is one tip you take away from this post let it be this one. Skincare experts actually recommend you use SPF daily come rain or shine as the suns rays can still effect your skin on a cloudy day. So go and grab a bottle of factor 30 to keep on in your bathroom cupboard. You'll thank me later!

For some reason, there seems to be a stigma behind men and moisturising. It is seen as very much a women's thing and that shouldn't be the case. Just because you're a man doesn't mean your skin is any different, so why shouldn't you take care of it? Investing in a good quality moisturiser to apply twice daily is possibly one of the best things you can do to keep your skin hydrated and supple after being in the sun. If you've caught the sun a little and you're wanting to avoid looking like a certain red crustacean, try a moisturiser with aloe in to sooth tender skin. Alternatively, you can buy moisturising suncream specifically for your face.

Good Quality Sunglasses.
Squinting into the sun is not ideal for anyone and is a sure fire way to increase premature ageing around the eye area. Grabbing a pair of sunglasses with actual UV protection in the lenses will not only prevent squinting but will protect your eyes from damage. Investing in a good quality pair of sunglasses not only protects but can totally finish off your summer look. Our Personal Stylist, Kim, has given us some tips for buying the perfect shades:

- Think about when you last replaced your sunglasses and check that they're still on trend and suit your face shape. You can totally upgrade your whole look just by making sure you are wearing modern frames.

- It's hard to be objective about choosing your own glasses so take someone with you to help you choose a new pair, or ask for help in store.

- Always try on styles that you've not worn before as you may be surprised at what will suit you.

-Ray Bans are fantastic because they have a wide selection from seasonal, fashion frames to the most classic of the classics - aviators, wayfarers and clubmasters (a style spotted on David Beckham at the Royal Wedding) - and because they only make sunglasses and are experts at what they do.

Drink Water.
Sorry gents but that beer doesn't count as hydration no matter how refreshing it feels. Drinking water has so many major health benefits and a lot of those contribute to your skin. And just like every other organ in your body, your skin is made up of several cells that require certain nutrients. So water doesn't only quench your thirst but keeps your skin healthy and happy too. Keeping a bottle at your desk or sipping on a glass in between G&Ts will keep you hydrated and looking great.
